UPDATE: ebay user id's
I still think it's a little fishy looking and that ebay should have a link next to the type of user id's letting other ebay users know why the username looks so strange. Ebay has an icon link next to people who have changed their user id, so why they don't add one next to the strange looking usernames I can't say?
Great feature for finding fake bids!
I have always been weary of high bidders with usernames that have "*" in them. They always seem to be fake names or junk accounts that the seller has to upbid their own items. After losing out on many items over the years I came to realize that I could hardly ever win an auction against these so called bidders with the "*" in their names.
Today I find this awesome feature that lets you see the bidding activity that any one buuyer has with that seller! All you do is click on the high bidders username and it will bring up a ton of information about them, including the "Bid activity (%) with this seller:"
Now I understand that there are many repeat buyers out there, I have a lot myself for items I list, but it's a great feature to get to look at when you think something is fishy.
On another note, I believe it's ebay policy that your username can only have letters and numbers in it, and not special characters. If anyone can correct me please do, but if I remember right that's the rules provided by ebay for the United States anyway.
I though this was very interesting and I know many others will love to see the bidding information regarding high bidders.
Enjoy!

Ebay makes changes to their look!
I really like how everything lets you choose the color, layout and order of things. There is a lot more information in the "right places" if you ask me. This is a needed change and one that will have many ebay users very happy.
Keep up the good work ebay! Now if they will just support the seller in a better fashion...lol

125 new ebay listings now for sale!!!
On a couple I added the ebay feature which lets everyone see what other items I am selling. This is sort of a test to see if I get any more traffic to my other ebay items. I will not know for certain how many more visitors I get because of adding the cool feature, but I will be able to tell from past visitor results.
I hope it help to bring in more sales!
Here it is:
...and don't forget to bid on some of my ebay items!!! Thanks!!!

August changes to some ebay sections
* Updates to DVD & Movies Item Specifics values
* In particular media areas, we will introduce Condition values "Brand New", "Like New", "Very Good", "Good" and "Acceptable" in place of the current values "New" and "Used". The categories affected are:
o Books: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Cookbooks, Children's Books, Textbooks and Audiobooks
o DVD & Movies: DVD HD-DVD & Blu-ray, VHS, VHS Non-US (PAL), UMD and Other Formats
o Music: CDs, Cassettes
o Video Games: Games
These changes won't affect items currently listed on the site. However, during the relist or revise process, items that currently have their Condition as "New" will be defaulted to the "Brand New" value and items with the condition "Used" will be defaulted to "Acceptable". Sellers may of course change the Condition value for their item at any point after these changes are introduced. Condition will also be defaulted to "Acceptable" on new listings if the seller has not selected a condition value.
* In Jewelry, eBay Item Specifics will be attached to the upcoming new Fine Jewelry categories:
o Fine Bracelets
o Fine Earrings
o Fine Necklaces & Pendants
o Fine Rings
* Jewelry Condition will add "Used" to the existing "New" value.
A list of planned changes to Item Specifics on eBay.com can be found at Seller Central [http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/itemspecs.html].

Man Puts Life Up for Sale on ebay
A man who put his life up for auction on eBay found it wasn't worth quite as much as he thought when he settled for around A$100,000 ($96,000) less than his target price.
Ian Usher, 44, held the seven-day auction of all his belongings, including his three-bedroom home in the west Australian city of Perth and a trial for his job at a rug store, after the break-up of his five-year marriage.
Bids had reached as high as A$2.2 million, only for Usher to discover there had been a glitch on eBay's system which allowed the participation of non-registered bidders who had put in bogus offers.
In the end, the winning bidder agreed to pay A$399,300 ($380,286) for all of Usher's worldly goods, which also include his friends, a motorcycle and a jetski. According to the eBay website, the mystery buyer, whose user name is "mslmcc", is in Australia and has a 100 percent feedback score.
Usher, who gave regular updates on the auction on his Web site www.alife4sale.com, now plans to travel in search of a new life.
He's not the first person to put his life on the block.
American John Freyer started All My Life For Sale (www.allmylifeforsale.com) in 2001 and sold everything he owned on eBay, later visiting the people who bought his things.
Adam Burtle, a 20-year-old U.S. university student, offered his soul for sale on eBay in 2001, with bidding hitting $400 before eBay called it off, saying there had to be something tangible to sell. Burtle later admitted he was a bored geek.

Almost at 500!!!!
And to think that I almost had a perfect 100% feedback score up until a buyer left me 1 negative. It was a horrible buyer who admitted to breaking a collectible plate and she had the nerve to ask for her money back. When I said it wasn't gonna happen she left negative feedback. The sad thing about ebay is that there is nothing I can do to remove the feedback even though it was unjust. Oh well, what can you do? Life goes on and people who really want to buy something from me can review my feedback andmake their own decision based on the other feedbacks. I can't wait to see my ebay star change color; it's a lot of work I know :)
500 here I come!!!

The new ebay feedback system stinks
I used to have 100% positive feedback, but now since they made the change I have 99.6% positive. All because I have a neutral feedback given to me almost a year ago! A neutral never used to count against you or for you; it ment what it said, NEUTRAL!
What a bunch of BS! I have worked for over 4 years to keep my 100% feedback score and
now they change it to this!? Ugh!
Not to mention the fact that you can no longer leave negative feedback for a buyer! WTF is going on here?

About Google Adsense...
I am not allowed to boldly ask anyone to click on my google ads, but that's how it works; people click on a Google ad on my blog and Google determines how many pennies I get for that click. Since I can't ask for you to click on any of my Google ads to make me money, you can still get an idea of how Google Adsense works and if you find or see something in one of my Google ads then by all means click on it and enjoy where it takes you...I might make a little more money from you doing that :)
If you have any questions on how Google Adsense works please feel free to ask m anytime! I love to help out when I can. Have a great day!

Seller Special: 15% Final Value Fee discount
From tomorrow, May 23rd through June 1st, you'll get 15% off your Final Value Fees when you offer Free Shipping on eBay.com and for Parts & Accessories listings on eBay Motors!
You can easily offer Free Shipping at the time of listing using either flat rate or calculated shipping. Not only could you get the discount, but items with Free Shipping also receive the eye-catching Free Shipping icon on the item page, and may receive additional exposure in Best Match.
To qualify, sellers must meet some basic criteria. For example, you must have a minimum score of 4.5 across all DSR categories (although new sellers with fewer than 10 DSRs are still eligible), and you can't require insurance on the item. Check out our information page for all the details [http://pages.ebay.com/promo/15FVF0523/].

Ebay message about the new increase in mailing items through the United States Post Office
Hello...As many folks know, United States Postal Service Shipping Prices and Fees will be changing Monday, May 12. More details about the new rates are available from USPS here [http://www.usps.com/prices/welcome.htm?from=bannercommunications&page=prices].
A few of the key changes are highlighted below. But first, here's how eBay's shipping solutions are affected:
-Flat rate shipping
Sellers using flat rate shipping should review any listings they expect to ship after the new prices are in effect and make any necessary changes to the shipping cost. You can edit your listings with bulk tools available from My eBay, Selling Manager, Selling Manager Pro, Turbo Lister, and eBay Stores. (For more information on editing items, please read Changing Your Listing [http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/edit_listing.html] and How Can I Revise My Listing [http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/revise-item.html] in our Help system.)
-Calculated shipping
For listings that use the eBay Shipping Calculator, prices will automatically be updated on Friday, May 9 around midnight Pacific Time. As a result, listings with calculated shipping that are paid for via Checkout after Friday, May 9 will have the new price applied. This timing recognizes that items paid for after Friday are not likely to be shipped on or before Monday, given it can take a few days for payments to clear. For more information on Calculated Shipping, visit our Frequently Asked Questions [http://pages.ebay.com/shippingfaq/index.html#2].
The new prices will also be reflected in the Research Rates calculator starting Friday night.
-PayPal Label Printing Solution
New prices will be available in the PayPal Label Printing Solution after 9 pm Pacific Time on Sunday, May 11. Sellers are reminded that through Sunday evening they can print labels at the old prices for shipments to be posted on Monday, May 12.
-New discounts in PayPal Label Printing
Once the new prices are in effect, new Commercial Base Price reductions will be available in the PayPal Label Solution for Priority Mail and Express Mail. For Priority Mail, commercial base prices will be 1 to 11% lower than retail prices and are based on zone and weight, and 2.2% on average lower than today's Priority Mail prices. For Express Mail, the commercial base prices are 3% lower than the retail prices.
The existing 5% and 8% discounts on Priority Mail International and Express Mail International will continue.
If you are not already benefiting from the savings and convenience of PayPal Label Printing [http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/shippingcenter9.html], there’s never been a better time to start!
Below are a few highlights of changes that impact some of the most common USPS services:
-Rates for Parcel Post, First Class Mail, Priority Mail and insurance are increasing slightly.
-The standard Priority Mail Flat Rate Box is increasing to $9.80 ($9.30 in the label printing solution) regardless of weight or destination. International prices for this service are increasing.
-The new Large Priority Mail Flat Rate Box will remain at $12.95 regardless of weight to domestic addresses.
-Express Mail is moving to zone-based pricing, in addition to weight. Close zones may experience a decrease in pricing, while further zones will experience an increase.
-First Class International is moving to shape-based pricing.
Sellers who ship with USPS should take time to familiarize themselves with the USPS rate changes announced [http://www.usps.com/prices/welcome.htm?from=bannercommunications&page=prices] and review their listings as appropriate.
While this rate change is less significant than the one last year, we realize that any changes to shipping can cause added work for our sellers. With this in mind, we're doing what we can to help sellers make a smooth transition.
Sincerely,
Kristina Klausen
Senior Director, Shipping

Ebay news!
EBay lowers fees for listing items; raises minimum seller standards
BOSTON, Jan. 29, 2008 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) -- EBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) Inc. Tuesday said it is lowering fees for listing items, raising minimum selling standards, and offering best seller incentives and discounts in an effort to improve the overall customer experience.
The fee changes, which vary by country, are intended to encourage sellers to list more items and use more pictures in listings, the San Jose, Calif.-based provider of online marketplaces said.
Starting Feb. 20 in the U.S., eBay said it is reducing fees to list items by 25% to 50%. The company will balance that change by increasing the fees it charges when an item is sold.
The company will also eliminate fees in the U.S. for its gallery option, which it hopes will spur sellers to include more photos of the item for sale.
In addition, EBay said it is making its minimum standards 'more stringent' for anyone who sells on the site, primarily to discourage behavior that causes buyer dissatisfaction, such as charging excessive shipping fees or not describing items accurately.
To this end, the company will begin to limit 'search exposure' for listings of sellers who have high rates of customer dissatisfaction.
EBay also said qualified 'powersellers' will receive valuable fee discounts and better payment protection from PayPal as a reward for being 'great sellers.'
Shares of ebay closed Monday at $26.80.

In my mail...
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently issued a recall of Tinker Bell lamps, fish coin banks, “BabyTown” pacifiers and InStep “Pathfinder,” Schwinn “Run About,” and Mongoose “Alley Cat” trailer bicycles due to a lead paint, choking, or fall hazard.
eBay takes recalled items very seriously, and we work closely with the Consumer Product Safety Commission on these issues. We encourage buyers and sellers to visit http://www.cpsc.gov (See the Recent Recalls section) for more details about the products and model numbers included in this recall. You may also wish to visit our Recalled Items policy at http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/recalled.html
For Sellers: Please check your product model numbers and refrain from listing any items that are part of this recall. Any currently listed items that are included in the recall should be ended.
For Buyers: If you believe an item you are interested in bidding on or purchasing may be part of this recall, we encourage you to use the Ask Seller a Question feature to verify.
As a service to our Community, eBay announces some product recalls, like these, when we believe the marketplace will be impacted. To stay informed about all CPSC recalls, please bookmark www.cpsc.gov [http://www.cpsc.gov/] and sign up to receive notices on new recalls issued by the CPSC.
