Have you seen the lines!?!?
OMG! The lines at the post office have been insane!
As of right now I do not have anything listed for sale on ebay. My plan is to wait until the holidays are over and the lines calm down a bit.
Most of the time I print out my own shipping labels from the USPS and just drop the items off real quick. Normally I would have some listings, but if I get some buyers that live outside the United States I would have to wait in the long long lines at the post office or the UPS store. Forget that!
I think it's wise to wait for everything to get back to normal.

A great feeling
What a great feeling to know that ebay does care about what items are being sold through their site!
My previous post was about a transaction in which I received fake merchandise from an ebay seller. I thought it would be a huge nightmare to have to go through all the hoops that ebay and paypal have for this situation. I was wrong! It was not hard at the least and in fact, I was very pleased to find out that ebay takes this sort of thing very seriously as was as paypal.
I received a full refund from paypal which they said should be reflected in my account in 3-4 business days. Although the seller is still selling a ton of items that are fake, I think it's safe to say that it will be stopped.
I can't even imagine how many people will be completely angered about receiving fake, junk items around the holiday season all from this one person. I mentioned before that when I bought my item from this seller their feedback score was around 350 or so, it is now above 405! Very sad indeed.

Beware of fake items!
I guess it was bound to happen...it's sort of funny in a way at this point seeing how my last entry was about how great ebay is :)
The moral of the story on this one is to read all the feedbacks left for someone your thinking of buying from, even if they are marked as positive scores.
I recently purchased an item from user "thefinestavailable" thinking that because they had a feedback score of 99.7% with 350+ feedbacks that the deal would be fine, it wasn't! When I received the item I knew as soon as I opened it that it was FAKE! and not even a good fake at that. I'll save you the gory details of the refund process in which I'm still in and tell you that you MUST read the feedback that others leave before buying anything. If I were to have read their feedbacks I would have never bought anything from these people! I thought that since they had almost all positive scores that others were happy with their purchases, but after reading about 20 I soon noticed that even though they were marked as positive scores, they were tells of horrible, fake items!
What this person does is tells you that they will not issue you a refund unless you "mutually withdraw" your negative feedback. This voids the negative feedback and makes it look like they seller is great, when in reality many of the positives are bad remarks.
Never the less, these people know the game and have it down to a science. I want to let you all know their name so you can avoid the headache I have from this deal. I know they are ripping a ton of people off since it's the holiday season, so be careful.
AVOID the ebay user "thefinestavailable" at all cost!
Read their feedbacks and see for yourself! They have quite a scam going!

Fun with Ebay!
My feedback count is now at 351 with almost 400 total transactions!
I have been having so much fun with ebay it's crazy! Knock on wood, all my transactions have been great and I have only had at most 2 or 3 problems with buyers. I do more selling than buying on ebay, however, when I first started out I did a ton of buying so that I could get my feedback score up to build some credibility.
If you have not yet tried selling or buying on ebay your missing out big time!
I can't wait to hit the 500 mark for feedback which is my goal for the end of the year.

Great Ebay sales this past week
We'll it looks like I have sold most of my antique artwork that was listed on ebay. Seems great right? Well, not exactly...I have it listed in bold red letters that I need to be be contacted before anyone places a bid so that I may get them the correct s+h price based on their zip code.
This hasn't happened on the majority of artwork I've sold. The problem is that they win the auction, which by ebay policy is a contract and they are supposed to pay, then ask about the s+h. I have it clearly listed in my auction that the artwork will be professionally packaged and shipped. There is no room for me to take money away from the s+h costs when the UPS store is the place doing the s+h for me.
One example was that the box cost $22 alone, the packaging cost $35 and to ship the artwork to their house was another $52. That's $109 to ship a piece of artwork weighing 29 lbs and approx. 48" x 38" x 4". Every time I send the invoice for them to pay I get a reply back saying, "isn't that a little high for s+h?" Well quite honestly, no, it isn't. Which is why I clearly stated in my listing to ask before you buy!
Ugh, but I guess it's all worth it in the long run. It just gets frustrating knowing that this will happen and there is no way to guess a s+h cost without knowing the zip code of the destination. Anyone out there that knows any good tricks please pass them my way :)
Anyway, back off to relist the items that didn't sell this past week...

Made in china products!
I can't believe how many news reports are reporting how horrible the toys etc are that are coming from China! There have been so many toy recalls in the past couple of months it's sickening!
I think the US government needs to step in and do something about this. You can't buy a toy for your kids now without thinking it might have high levels of lead. Crazy!
Please make yourself aware of this situation so you can help protect yourself and your kids from lead problems. When buying online, whether at ebay or any other auction website, make sure you buy American made products. I have a sad feeling that as time goes by we will hear of more lead scares involving China made products.

Antique framed artwork sold well
I sold most of my antique artwork this past week on ebay which was really fun! It is hard to price the items like this for s+h but once you have a zip code it's very simple.
I look forward to selling the rest of my antique prints and paintings this coming weekend. Have a look at my listings if haven't already!

Testing a s+h feature right now on ebay!
I have known it was there all along but have never tried using it.
When listing an item for sale on ebay you have a few choices when it comes to shipping and the shipping cost you have your buyer pay. I have alway chosen the option of a flat rate price and then select the shipping method that I think would be best.
Now I am trying out something new for me. It's called the calculated method. You set the starting price for your item like normal. Then for the s+h section you choose the calculator method. This lets the buyer or future bidder type in their zip code and have a s+h price show up. This eliminates emails asking how to ship it here or there etc.
You can also add a certain dollar amount above the regular shipping cost so that you make some profit from the s+h. I think this will be very helpful to buyers and let me spend more time listing items and less time responding to emails asking how much the s+h would be to whatever state.
Here goes!

Now selling 44 items with 9 Antique Paintings, prints etc.!
Just finished listing nine wonderful antique paintings and prints, from watercolor, to pastel and everything in-between!
Very well known artists and most with signatures. The shipping is based on your location and the weight. I found a nice trick to let your future buyers find out about the s+h costs. What you have to do is leave the s+h box empty, in other words, you do not choose a shipping option. This puts the words "see item description" next to your item when people search for it.
This is a great way for people not toget scared away by the s+h price before they know exactly what they are buying by reading your description :)
Enjoy!

Yay for me!
Just hit the 300 mark for feedback on ebay! It's quite an accomplishment to have wjile still keeping my 100% feedback score. I have been having so much fun on ebay....you need to join and start having some fun there as well!
PayPal and the USPS...ugh!
I hope this gets fixed ASAP! Starting 2 days ago I have been unable to print shipping labels from the PayPal site via USPS! They say you will get your money refunded which is great but they have no information about why it's down or how long until it will be fixed.
I called PayPal and they said to call USPS. So I did. USPS gave me the typical answer of "call PayPal, everything looks fine here". I waited 20 minutes and tried the shipping feature again with no luck. I called back USPS and a guy told me they were having some issues right now but it would be fixed within2-3 hours. OK great! Well not really...
Still as of this morning I am unable to print shipping labels the way I have been doing for over a year! I just hope this get resolved soon because if not it means I have to make a thousand trips to the post office and wait in line! That's why I loved using it, you could walk right up to the front of the line and drop off your package(s) and leave, now that's nice!

Another big day for listing!
I think today is gonna be a big day for me listing a ton of great items on ebay. I have about 10 antique paintings and pictures to sell in addition to the normal things like kids clothes and toys.
I'll post some slideshow photos of some of my items here in a little while. I have already relisted the few things that did not sell this past week. I think I'm having a lot of great sales with ebay; listed close to 90 items and only had to relist 30! YAY!
If your not selling on ebay you better get started and rake in some of that money. Remember, Halloween is just around the corner and ebay is a great place to shop for dress up clothes and other Halloween items!
Bye for now :)

Information regarding the newest toy recall
In the latest recall, Mattel instructs people to go to its Web site (www.service.mattel.com) to establish whether they own an affected toy. Click the link Here!
Mattel said the playsets affected by the latest recall were produced by Holder Plastic Company, a Mattel contract vendor, which subcontracted the painting of miniature toy pets and small furniture pieces to Dong Lian Fa and Yip Sing.
The two companies used uncertified paint and are no longer producing toys for Mattel, the toymaker said.
In total there are 522,000 U.S. toys and 322,000 toys outside of the United States that are being recalled. The toys were shipped between August 3, 2006, and July 31, 2007 according to Mattel.

More recalls from Mattel - over 800,00 toys!
Another toy recall from huge toy maker Mattel that again has do with Chinese made toys because they may contain too much lead in their paint.
The latest recall now involves a Fisher-price toy as well as accessories to a Barbie playset and covers several hundred thousand units according to the Associated Press today, September 5th, 2007.
This is another sad story to the already alarming sadness of millions of toys being recalled by Mattel because of lead paint and loose magnets. It is said that the Barbie playsets were sold from November 2006 until last month, and the Fisher-Price toy was sold from July 2006 until yesterday!
Please be aware of what you have purchased from ebay and other stores due to this important recall. This is going to make it very hard to buy toys for our childeren, but hopefully it will be a huge wake up call to have more products made here in the USA that follow strict guidelines and quality standards.
Here are the latest affected products on the recall list to date:
-Barbie Table and Chairs Kitchen Playset
-Barbie Bathtub and Toilet Playset
-Barbie Living Room Playset
-Barbie Desk and Chair Bedroom Playset
-Fisher-Price Geotrax Rail and Road System Freightway Transport

Hope you find some great stuff!
I love the free image listings!
I have so been taking advantage of the free image listngs on ebay. Normally it will cost you .20 cents to list an item at .99 cents or less and .35 cents to add an image of the item next to the text about it. Now, it costs you only .35 cents to list any item with a staring bid of $9.99 or less with an image! How cool!

Shopping...
I will be going shopping for more items to list on Ebay later today. I hope I find some great stuff to list for all of you! A little trick I like to do is go shopping at older shops in older communities. I find more cool items in the places where most people would never think to go to.By the way, always ask the shop keeper if they have anything in the back that they haven't put on display yet, this can get you first dibs on some nice things!
Have a great holiday today and start bidding on the stuff I already have listed on Ebay lol

Great savings on Ebay today!
So we just received our new Dell laptop and are falling in love with it. Unfortunately, our old Mac computer uses a cat 5 network cable that is routed behind our huge desk!
Today we set out to get a new cat 5 cable so that we could just unplug the cat 5 cable from the Mac and plug the new on into the Dell and the modem and use it that way. Come to find out that the newest thing is a cat 6 cable, big whoop!, and they cost almost $20.00 for a 7 ft. cable!!! Crazy I thought.
So we all said at the same time, let's try Ebay! Sure enough we easily found a 7 ft. cat 6 cable made by the same company. The best part is that we were able to purchase two 7 ft. cat 6 cables for less than $10.00 including shipping and handling! Now our old Mac can have it's very own cat 6 cable and won't get jealous of our new Dell notebook ha ha.
Anyway, it just goes to show that searching ebay can save you time and money as well as put a big smile on your face!

Well I was right about the ebayer not paying after all
So my worst fears were confirmed this morning when I received an email from the highest bidder regarding my leather jacket. If you remember from a few days ago, I was worried that they were not going to pay me because they had been an ebay member since April 24th, 2007 and still had a feedback score of zero.
When I opened my emails this morning I had one in there from this person, which was a big surprise because quite honestly I didn't think I would ever hear from them anyway. I was told that Unfortunately due to unexpected circumstances I cannot afford the jacket any longer". What a joke!
I guess all I can hope for now is that the highest bidder under this person still wants the jacket and not bought another one in the meantime. I sent this person a second chance offer which I can explain what that is in another post soon enough.
So in closing I think it's only fair to post the username of this person who flaked out on me. The ebay username "amadakruger", the name is a link so you can visit their profile and see if they have had any listing or bought anything from anyone. I truly thin that this ebay username is a fake name somone set up for the specifi purppose of doing things like this. I will also tell you how and why people do this in a future post.

Kinda nervous about this
I know I shouldn't make judgment calls about people who have a feedback score of 0, but it's almost something that you have to do. Don't get me wrong, I have had my share of people pay on time who had a zero for their feedback score in the past, however it seems lately that hasn't been the case.
What I'm talking about is this leather jacket I listed on ebay that just sold yesterday for a lot of money. The high bidder had a zero feedback score, I sent them an invoice yesterday followed up by an email about 5 minutes ago asking how they would like to pay for the item. I did the email thing just to see if I would get back a response...nothing yet!
Sure, maybe they went out of town for the weekend, maybe they are busy with family, who knows? I just get concerned now when someone bids on any of my items and they have a zero feedback score. Sad but true.

Toys ‘R’ Us has stopped selling lead-tainted baby bibs!
A few days ago we learned that here were certain vinyl baby bibs sold at Toys “R” Us stores that appeared to be contaminated with lead according to laboratory tests. This event making these inexpensive bibs another example of a poor China import product that may be a health hazard to our children.
The vinyl bibs in question feature illustrations of baseball bats and soccer balls and Disney's Winnie the Pooh characters, were sold for less than $5 each under store brand labels, including "Especially for Baby" and "Koala Baby".
Recent tests financed by the Center for Environmental Health of Oakland, California, found lead as high as three times the level allowed in paint in several styles of the bibs purchased from both the Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores in California.
Now, we hear that Toys “R” Us has halted the sale of vinyl baby bibs at its stores nationwide yesterday, August 17th, and has offered their customers refunds on perhaps more than a million bibs after continued tests confirmed that at least some of the Chinese-made items are contaminated with lead.
This is scary folks! Again, the contaminated bibs were marketed under the "Koala Baby", "Especially for Baby" and Disney Baby labels and manufactured for the company by Hamco Baby Products.
Please keep an eye out when placing bids for items such as these on ebay. I know ebay has made the issue known to us, it's buyers and sellers, but it never hurts to keep things like this going and being posted so the few that do not know will find out. Who knows what else they will find as more testing is performed, but this is just another lesson to always keep an eye out especially when it comes to our kids.

Heads up on the toy recall
Recently in the news you have heard about some major product recalls in several industries regarding products that are imported from China.
Now comes two massive recalls regarding the major toy company Mattel. The first recall covered about a million and a half of their Fisher Price toys with concerns about lead paint.
In Addition, we were made aware of the fact that there are over 250,000 "Sarge" cars from the "Cars" movie with lead paint concerns and roughly nine million toys with tiny magnets that can be very dangerous for smaller kids. Overall there are over 18 million magnetic toys and about 450,000 die cast toy cars that are being recalled. This is very sad news!
Just a heads up on the huge Mattel toy recall. Here is a link to the list of toys recalled by Mattel. This link is a list that includes the Mattel recalls that were announced since August 4, 1998.
For general recall information on any consumer product, and for earlier Mattel recalls, please visit www.recalls.gov.
I wanted you all to be aware of this when buying items on ebay. Maybe this will turn into something good, like having more products made here in the USA!

Strange...
A lot of my listings have been and were bid on by people with zero feedback. Normally I would think "great, here's someone that's not gonna pay for the item", because to be honest that is what happens a lot. However, the last 4 items I've sold to people with zero feedback have paid via PayPal right away!
Goes to show you can't always go by the usual even if it happens 99% of the time.

The most listings ever!
Since I started selling items on Ebay over a few years ago I have always wanted to see how many manually entered listings I could do. I used to think it would be somewhere between 25-30 items for sale, but since ebay changed their listing form to a much easier and user friendly form I've gone crazy!
My new record of items for sale at one time is now 108 :) Insane if you ask me, but I have found that I could list a few certain items over and over again without anyone bidding on the let alone buying them, but as soon as I reached a listing total of over 50 items for sale, things just start to get bid on like crazy.
I think that anyone justs starting on ebay might think that the cost to sell of things is not worth it, but take my advice, when you want to make some money on ebay list as much as possible and reap the rewards.
I will go into some great tips on selling on ebay in future posts.

My daughter is so happy!
My daughter was so happy this afternoon when the mail came! We had bid on this adorable Siameese kitten from Littlest Pet Shop on Ebay a week ago and won.
She is in love with these Littlest Pet Shop toy animals! She can't seem to have enough of them around her all the time.
The funny thing is, we've started to watch Animal Rescue on the Animal Planet Channel and she has to have all of her Littlest Pet Shop friends right there with her watching to!
It's sooo cute to see them all wrapped up in the bed spread watching TV. I think she might just grow up to be a veterinan!

Going through all my stuff for Ebay!
Man what a job! I've been going through so much of my old stuff that has been in boxes for years. I must say it has been quite refreshing to know that I will soon have more room in my house and garage :)
I plan on listing almost everything on Ebay! That alone will be a huge job, I know.
I really love Ebay for buying and selling all sorts of great items. Everything from hard to find special things to everyday normal items. Ebay has been very good to me in the simple fact that almost every person who has had the winning bid, pays on time!
I have had a few bad experience's with two people recently who did not pay for the items they won. What a nightmare that is to deal with. I'll post about that situation in the next few posts I make about my Ebay experience's...
So in closing, be sure to checkout what I have listed for sale on Ebay, you never know, I might have something you can't live without :)
